Follow The Bees
Hello from Farmer Jim:
HI there! My name is Farmer Jim and I need your help. I love watermelons, like seriously LOVE them. Sun, seeds and bees help my watermelons grow big and sweet. I need your help planting wildflower seeds. Wildflowers help honeybees make honey and grow their colonies. In the spring and summer I need honeybees to pollinate my watermelon flowers. If a watermelon flower is pollinated, it will grow a baby watermelon. Baby watermelons grow into big watermelons that we can all eat. Will you help me plant wildflowers?
How do watermelons grow?
SUN
Farmers need the sun to help their plants grow. Sunshine helps Farmer Jim’s watermelons grow super sweet and juicy.
SEEDS
Farmer Jim grows his watermelons in rows. Tiny watermelon plants grow fast. A watermelon vine can grow 6-8 ft in a month!
BEES
Farmer Jim needs honey bees to pollinate every yellow flower on a watermelon vine for his watermelons to grow. That’s a lot of flowers!
Order a Farmer Jim Kit
